-What's the difference between intramural and extramural sports?
INTRAMURALS are designed to encourage participation, promote fun, and give students a break from their academic subjects. The objective is to give students a variety of athletic opportunities without the pressure of actual competition. This is a free non-commitment and non tryout program.
EXTRAMURALS are teams comprised of 7th and 8th grade students ONLY, who compete against neighboring schools in athletic competitions. Students must tryout for their desired sport.
-What sports are offered for intramurals?
We offer a variety of activities for students to play in both the morning and afternoon intramural sessions.
-What sports are offered for extramurals (these sports require tryouts)?
Soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and track.
-Are extramural sports co-ed?
Track and soccer are co-ed where both girls and boys compete on the same team. Basketball, volleyball, and tennis have separate boys and girls teams.
-How much do these programs cost?
$0. These programs are free!
-Where can I download a registration form for intramurals or extramurals?
Directions for Extramural forms can be found by selecting the forms tab. (This is completed online ONLY- no forms should be submitted in person)

-Who do I turn my form into?
All Intramurals forms must be turned into Coach Bradley and all Extramurals forms must be completed on RankOne
-Where can I find Coach Bradley?
You can find Coach Bradley's office in room #B122 by the girls locker room or via email [email protected]
-Can I submit my form by email?
Yes, Intramurals forms may be emailed. PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN EXTRAMURAL FORMS. THEY SHOULD BE COMPLETED ON RankOne.
Extramural Form Questions:
-Is my physical from last year on file?
No.
-Can I use my physical from last year?
All physicals are good for 1 calendar year. As long as it has not expired you may use your physical.
-Where can I get a sports physical?
From your personal doctor/nurse practitioner, or a CVS/Walgreens.
-Can a student turn in the physical portion of the extramural packet after they tryout?
No. FCS policy prevents any student from trying out for any sport without a completed physical on file.
-If my child cannot make the tryout date are they able to tryout another time?
No. Unfortunately, we cannot offer another tryout whether the student was sick or was not able to obtain a physical on time.
-Should my child come to all posted tryout dates?
We encourage all student athletes to come out to as many tryouts as possible. This allows the player more opportunities to show off their skill. Additionally, it shows the level of dedication and commitment of the player. If there is a conflict that prevents the athlete from making it to a tryout please let the coach know.
-Where should students meet for tryouts?
Students are encouraged to go to the locker rooms and dress in athletic attire. Once they are dressed appropriately for activity they should wait in the gym for Coach:
-Does my child need equipment for extramural sports?
Yes! Parents should provide the following-
Soccer players: cleats and shin guards
Volleyball players: knee pads
Tennis: tennis racket & tennis shoes
Basketball: Basketball shoes
-Where does my child keep their athletic equipment during the day?
Students can keep their equipment in the gyms PE storage closet. Please ask ANY coach in the gym to unlock it for you.
-When will practices be held?
This is a coach specific question that will be addressed after your child makes his or her sport team. Most practices are held after school from 4:05-5:10 PM Monday-Fridays.
-What days will athletes have games?
This varies from sport to sport. Most soccer, volleyball and basketball games are held on Mondays and Fridays at 5:30 PM. Tennis, and Track are weekend exhibitions. All sports have updated schedules posted to this website. They are subject to change due to whether.
-Does my child need to be insured?
Students are required to be insured for both intramural and extramural sports. If you already have coverage please fill out your information on the insurance verification portion of the packet. There is no need for you to fill out or apply for the T.W Lord Student Accident Insurance if you already have coverage! If you are uninsured please feel free to purchase the county provided insurance by clicking here-student_accident_insurance_coverage_2023-24.pdf. Please scroll to the last page of the PDF. RULES:
- If students do not dress out for PE, they cannot participate in Intramurals or Extramurals for that day.
- If a student is absent for more than half of the school day, they cannot participate in the Extramural activity for that day.
- Students who are staying for Intramurals or Extramurals need to report to the locker room immediately upon dismissal.
- Students must wear athletic clothes for Intramurals / Extramurals.
- Please note: In order to participate in each game or tournament, students must attend at least 80% of practices leading up to the event.
- Students must be picked up from River Trail by 5:15 pm.
- Students must have a ride to and from away games. Carpool is allowed.
